The Lord is compassionate toward singles. Adam started out as one. In God’s dealings with Adam, we discover two realities: 1) God established marriage as the antidote to a basic human need (“It is not good for the man to be alone”); 2) God was concerned about the individual fit of the relationship (“a helper suitable for him”).   Our relationship with God is not simply an objective fact. It is also a subjective experience. Faith in Christ brings us into a real, two-way relationship of joy with the triune God. What we do makes a real difference in our experience of this relationship. We can enjoy the relationship, or neglect it. We can pursue God, or avoid him.

God Wants You to be His Friend. God created you in His image so that so that He could have a personal relationship with you. God is seeking an intimate heart to heart relationship with you. There are some very good parents that have friendship with their children, while still being parents. God is your Father but He desires friendship with you. It would mean a focus on a loving relationship with God and others, and not a focus on abstract rules or doctrine. It would mean an experienced faith now, and not just one that looks to a book from the past. Or more precisely, it would look to Scripture not as a set of rules, but as a witness to what the disciples had experienced of God in.

T he Bible is a book of relationships. It shows us what our relationship to God is meant to be and how we can have that kind of relationship. It shows us how we should interact and treat our fellow Christians. It shows us how we are to view those who do not believe.   Our heavenly father wants you to have an intimate relationship with Him! No restoration is complete unless you are not only restored out of something but restored to something. That restoration is the ability to have a deep and personal relationship with God. I want to show that God has more for you in this life than just wholeness.

Notice the two aspects of God’s simple statement. God doesn’t want your head knowledge; he wants an emotional relationship with you. There are some things you need to understand about emotions.

First, God has emotions. God is an emotional God. He feels joy, grief, pain, and hatred toward sin. He gets frustrated with people.

The only reason you have emotions is because you’re made in God. God took the kingdom of Israel away from King Saul and gave it to David, whom He described as “a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do”.
